This is a fairly secure program and provides heavily encrypted passwords through its password generator feature. Advanced Password Manager can be an effective password management program if you take the time to read the manual.
It may take you some time to learn all of the features. There are many features included with this program, but they are difficult to navigate. Once you get the hang of it the system, it becomes easier to use. We had to go through the user manual two or three times to learn how many of the features work. Especially the autofill.
Like similar password programs Advanced Password Manager relies on you to pre-fill your database, then you can access the feature from the system tray. However, make sure the next object you select is the field you want filled otherwise the feature is useless. We also found that you have to modify the template database with database commands if your forms require any keystrokes fancier than username, tab and password.
Advanced Password Manager is designed similar to Windows applications. It uses a system of folders and files to organize your password information.
After several emails we were unable to contact Advanced Password Manager’s manufacturer, Rays Lab. As a matter of fact, at least one of their contact email addresses did not work. If you need help using this software you’re stuck with only the user guide.
Additionally, we didn’t like that upon installation Advanced Password Manager changed our computer registry to launch every time our computer is turned on.
