Installation of RoboForm Pro couldn’t be much easier. It works with Windows 98, ME, NT4, 2000, 2003, XP and Vista and Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher is required. Initially you’re asked if you want to Run or Save the file and you select Run. Next, agree to the run the software, choose a language and agree to the license agreement.
Set up of personal information allows you to designate the folders in which RoboForm Passcards and Identities are stored and where the program software resides. For most users, the default selections are fine. You can also opt to install an adapter so that RoboForm will also work with the Mozilla Firefox or Netscape browsers.
Creating a Master Password is next. It’s the password that allows you to access all of the others that are stored as RoboForm Passcards, Identities, and Safenotes. This Master Password is the one that you actually need to remember. Following installation, you’ll have access to test and tutorial pages which help learn how to automatically save and fill passwords using the program.
The online manual included with RoboForm Pro is extensive, helpful and will answer almost all questions. The tutorial begins immediately following installation. We’d recommend taking a few minutes to go through the tutorial, as it will answer many of your questions up front.
Roboform Pro also offers a FAQs section for your common concerns and an email address to contact customer support. They responded to our emails within hours.
Passwords can be both backed up and restored. It’s up to you to backup your system; we recommend doing it often and always after big changes.
The password generator will create passwords up to 512 characters long providing maximum security. Don’t worry, Roboform will also remember your own unbreakable passwords.
RoboForm Pro is a useful and easy–to–use password management system that doesn’t require much time to set up or learn. Both computer novices and experts can use this program to manage and protect their passwords. Through the Internet toolbar, you are able to quick link to your favorite websites and automatically sign in at the click of a button.
RoboForm Pro the company also offers a version for transferring password information to flash drives called RoboForm2Go and they have an upgrade product for Pocket PCs.
